2020 Race Update
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the planning committee members of the Run Iron Mountain Road & Trail Half Marathon, I am disappointed to announce that this year’s event will be cancelled. After months of discussion, debate, consultation and a strong intention to continue with our September 26, 2020 race schedule, we have come to the conclusion that planning, preparing and executing safely and efficiently under so many unknowns would be irresponsible.
We want our race to be open to all that want to participate in the events in the way they find enjoyable through running, observing and supporting, volunteering and organizing, or being involved strictly through their financial commitments. This race is about our community and the pride we have for it. We strive yearly to show our visitors and runners why we love Iron Mountain and Dickinson County and to attempt to do this under the current COVID-19 restrictions is just not what this race is about. It does not allow us to show the faces of support this community and area delivers to this race every year.
We apologize to those that have already signed up. We will be contacting you regarding your choice of a full refund or an early sign up for next year via email or phone call. The choice is yours.
Also, I want to thank all of our sponsors who have stuck with us and continue to support this race. We are excited about next year 2021 and will start that planning process immediately! See our full list of sponsors and supporters at www.runironmountain.com. Please stay tuned for more content and giveaways as we start preparation for next year 2021!
With best regards,
Joe Smith (Race Director)
